Chick Embryology
The end of April we had twelve fertilized eggs delivered to our classroom and the fun began.  We placed the eggs in an incubator and spent the next eight days learning about the eggs and the first eight days of a chicks life.  After day eight we candled the eggs and were able to predict which eggs had a chick growing inside.  We saw life in all twelve eggs.  We then continued learning about the changes that were occurring daily in our baby chicks.  We were elated on day 21 when we had 11 baby chicks hatch.  We spent the following few days embracing, sciencing, and reading to the chicks as well as sharing them with other PVE students.  It was an amazing experience!
